Funeral Service Prakash Gossai 1953-2009
The Hindu and Caribbean communities mourn the passing of Shri Prakash Gossai, priest, singer and Special Assistant to Guyana’s President Bharrat Jagdeo. Shri Gossai died in Miami on Monday morning (June 15, 2009) of a heart attack. He was 56. A funeral service for Shri Gossai is scheduled to be held at Grace Funeral home, 607 North Conduit Blvd., Brooklyn on Thursday June 18. Sri Gossai was widely known in Canada, the United States and the Caribbean for his selfless service to humanity and his work in promoting Satya Sanatan

Shri Prakash Gossaiji (1953-2009)
Our dearest Prakashji suffered a second heart attack in Guyana and was eventually flown to a hospital in Miami on the Friday. Unfortunately he passed on at 2:30a.m. June 15, 2009. Hinduism in the West and all Guyanese on the whole can never repay him for the contribution he made in his short life time. He brought our religion to life in these stressful times in strange countries. He was beyond doubt a humble man, a superb singer, a great lover of the Holy Ramayana, who transferred that immense love for our dear Shri Ram to all around him. He was indeed a true Gossai, a selfless Saint. He will missed tremendously. May his soul rest with his beloved Sri Ram.
